EVELYN K. KIRKALDY (Slocan Valley, BC)
Evelyn Kirkaldy’s latest acrylic creations are layered in sensuous, intricate texture. “I try to express light, colour and movement all at the same time.” Drips, dots and spatters merge and mingle to create striking contemporary landscapes. Working quickly and primarily without the limitations of a brush, Evelyn is able to harness the sense of spontaneity that is key to creativity. A deep sense of the natural world and energetic colour play are fundamental to her portrayals of vibrant mountain meadows, lively flower gardens and lush rainforests.
NOELLE NADEAU (West Kelowna, BC)
I believe the purpose of art is to question, expand, and even beautify our previous conceptions and limitations. An artwork is complete when the viewer brings their perceptions and experiences to it and through awareness and observation a shift may occur.

ALISSA WOODSIDE (Kelowna, BC)
Alissa's mixed media paintings fall under the title of Abstract Expressionism- full of texture and a loose release of paint- these paintings allow for story-telling within the canvas.
The mixed media in her work may consist of some or all of the following: acrylic paints and thickening mediums, re-claimed news print, twine, cheese cloth, lithograph prints, India ink, and charcoals. Alissa’s tools of choice are: drawing sticks such as chopsticks, forks, other kitchen utensils, paint brushes in all sizes, palette knives, nib pens, metal disks and tools (for creating surface texture), and, Q-tips. Alissa Woodside is usually found painting her canvas’ crouching and/or kneeling on the floor!
that first recollection… You think you know exactly what a bird looks like… –“Well, a bird has a beak and two spindle legs with feet that look like a 3 prong fork”…. Wait a sec… Now, you’re not so sure are you? I work with these initial, defining symbols of recollection and recognition.

LIZ VANGOLEN VINCENT (Woodside) (Kelowna, BC)
“Whether working in watercolor, acrylic, or mixed media, I enjoy the layering process, the glazing over or lying on, many thin transparent layers of color to create mystery and depth. I often integrate calligraphy into the layers, continuing to be amazed at the intuitive process and how the painting evolves. I have learned not to question the inspiration and often find confirmation for that expression upon completion of the work. Art allows me to experience the mystery of life. It becomes a communication vehicle for our spirit.”
